The bats came back to life on Saturday morning in an 8am match up with the division rival Oilers. Earlier in the week, Jaron Minford put all NABA pitchers on warning. He made his words stand up as he jacked a solo shot to left field at John Herb field. Greg Wittmer also busted out with 3 singles, 2 RBI, and downing a bowl of sausage gravy after the game in celebration. Brian Strom and Adam Philipp each had 2 RBI doubles, and Bill Jacobs contributed with a triple to right field that scored 1. In all, we banged out 11 hits and had several walks, as the game got a little lopsided toward the end. Adam Pillip went the distance, striking out 7 and giving up only 3 hits. The only run to cross the plate was via the first batter of the game, who singled, stole 2nd and then came home on an errant throw while stealing 3rd.
It was a good game by all, but we face a much tougher challenge tomorrow when we face the undefeated Owlzzzzzz at noon.
