Bulldogs a Big Hit at Tournament

Oh did I say "big"?  I meant "no" hit.  Joe's rendition of Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time" on Thurs night kept playing in my head on Saturday.

A big first inning by the 28 and over traveling team was all they needed as we were blanked 6-0 in the first game.  The 2nd game was much worse, though we did manage a hit.  That game was over in 6 innings.

Trying for redemption on Sunday, the Dawgs were shutout again 6-0 by the Ducks.  And to top things off, a depleted Bulldogs / Ducks squad lost 3-0 to the Pirates, who scored their first 3 runs of the weekend in a battle of the weekend's biggest losers - though half of our team had gone home for the day and most of the Ducks were also gone at this point.  The only team that managed to score more than 1 run on Saturday were the Hurricanes and they got kicked out of the tournament for arguing with the umps.  A great weekend by the NABA indeed.

At least we made up for it with a fun night at Strom's house on Sunday.  I think we had fun.  It was sort of an encore from Thurs night, with several people sleeping in cars once again.  Other highlights from the night included: the highest point in Allegheny County, tree climbing, and the "torch of destiny".

See you all on Saturday...
