With playoffs upon, there have been some very good suggestions on the ducks blog on how the playoffs could be re-configured for future years. Nate’s suggested format certainly favors the AA Champion, and hampers the A Champion, and has merit in terms of competitive balance. The only issue would be scheduling. However, the objective behind [...]

So there’s a good deal of traffic on the previous post regarding 6pm games and realignment. Prior to the March 27th meeting, we will be sure to revisit the realignment topic. To summarize what has taken place at the league meeting regarding the new “Leagues” and subsequent changes to the playoffs goes like this: 1. [...]

In a departure from years past, the league will not be handling the distribution of time slots this year to teams. Teams are responsible for securing their own time slots (details from Iser), and the league will now accept 6pm Weeknight Games on the schedule. This was voted on at the end of year meeting [...]

The League is going to purchase weeknight timeslots in an effort to complete the fall schedule. Please inform your managers if you are unable to attend your games, and check this page to see if managers need a player on a night you are available. With the weather having a difficult time behaving in a seasonally appropriate way, I thought I would give a few updates regarding the fall and winter seasons in the NABA. Fall – Every effort will be made to play between 8-11 games this fall. If we get rained out for a fourth straight week, expect [...]

The dreary rain couldn’t dampen yesterday’s league events as much as it tried. While winter seems determined to end fall early the league won a credit dispute, and appears to have added a new team for the fall. A hat vendor based in Irvine, California earlier this year charged $820 to the league for hats [...]

Fall Baseball – I applied for a permit to use Avonworth’s High School Baseball field in July, and still haven’t heard back one way or another yet. I’m a little worried at this point that for some unknown reason, I won’t be able to sue that field for fall…. In which case, we need to [...]

I was exceptionally pleased with everything regarding the first week of the fall ball season. All managers appear to have been very organized, and there were very few instances of no-shows by players. Out of 73 players in the league, only 6 have not paid their balance in full (and five of them are on [...]
