Day of the Dawgs

On the 8th of August, the Bulldogs asserted themselves individually and collectively in the NABA and PBL.
The PBL Bulldogs are in a fight for the playoffs, and after a decisive two-game sweep of the River City Sharks, they control their own destiny with an 11-13 record.  The Sharks were unable to retire two players all [...]

Weekend Update: Wet n’ Wild

Before Trojan blows a gasket over a lack of things to do while he is supposed to be working on BJ’s 401k…
Time for a new post.
The young studs remain atop the NABA standings at 9-1, although 3 of their past 4 contests have been postponed due to rain.  They haven’t played in over a week.  [...]

Murphy’s Law

“Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”.
Also known as a “Bulldog Inning”… Generally happens in the 6th inning.  First known occurrence was last year in the playoffs vs the Warriors.  Most recent occurrence was in the first game of this year when we took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 6th and [...]

Weekend Update: Bulldogs go 3-0, Earn 60th Franchise Victory – UPDATED

The Bulldogs opened the Weekend by notching their 60th victory in franchise history by defeating the South Oakland Ducks.  They continued their winning ways Sunday by sweeping the Monroeville Hurricanes at Haymaker Park in Murrysville.
I have started the entries, and hopefully Martin will finish them off…. I have left the color commentary for the Duckzzz [...]

Weekend Update: Bulldogs 22, Knights 0

The Bulldogs swept the weekend doubleheader and dedicated the victory to Mothers everywhere.  Some Bulldogs even dedicated the game to other player’s moms, while some moms were in attendance.
In other news, the Bulldogs are searching for some slogans for 2010, and are open to suggestions.  A poll will be conducted soon to determine the winner.
On [...]

Weekend Update – Fightin Ruef-skis?

Quick update from the weekend…
The Baby Bulldogs were blanked 5-0 early Saturday morning by the upstart Oilers. The Oil have totally revamped their lineup. Dan Morgan went for the Bulldogs, with Adam Philip doing the relief duty.
After no hitting the Warriors (with 17 K’s), Dan Ruef stepped onto the mound for his second [...]

4-0

Peter Venkman was out with a cold.  The Bulldogs were out in the cold.  But the bats stayed hot, and the Baby Bulldogs forged ahead defeating the Black Sox 11-8 at John Herb Field, getting off to their best start in franchise history after four games.
It was the first win for the Bulldogs against the [...]

Weekend Update: Bulldogs Show off their “0″-face

The Bulldogs played three games this weekend, and played mostly shorthanded.  Although admittedly, not as shorthanded as the Eagles who actually played with eight.  All in all one team was left 3-0, while the other was left 0-2.  However, both teams, and all players involved (even those not at the field), gave their best “0″-face [...]

Bulldogs Sweep Titans in Opening Day Doubleheader

BELLEVUE, PA – The Rochester Inn Bulldogs opened their 2010 Season with impressive victories over the North Shore Titans, a product of the 2010 Pittsburgh NABA Expansion.  The Bulldogs, missing several new players as a result of the continuing collegiate baseball season, still found a way to emerge victorious on this balmy April afternoon.
Game 1 [...]

Coulda, Shoulda

Well it’s been almost a week since the Bulldogs season ended and it still pains me to think about that game.  With the playoff picture starting to take shape, the Warriors and Hurricanes are battling it out for the Allegheny championship.  We took 2 of 3 from each of these teams in the regular season [...]
