Game Notes
I was going to title this one “Fuck Stats”, because after my latest ramblings about how we score a lot of runs, and how we have actually outscored our opponents despite a losing record, we go out and play like shit. Our team is literally like night and day. The day time team usually shows [...]

Once again I am writing the review of this game under the influence of Corona (recurring theme?) – So once again I don’t have the book in front of me for verification. I’m hesitant to say that the bats have finally heated up after an exhilarating 4 man “practice” on Saturday morning, because we have [...]

On, what turned out to be a very nice evening at Spring Hill Field, the Bulldogs faced the Gray Bats in, what proved to be, the best pitchers’ duel that the Bulldogs have been a part of. Paul Altymer vs. Adam Phillip. Both were commanding on the hill, missing many bats throughout the evening. I [...]

I’m a little drunk and I don’t have the book with me, so bear with me. The first game we lost 4-1. The Hurricanes threw their ace. BJ threw for us and struck out many. We had one bad inning once again, and our bats were cold once again – though we were also short [...]

It was a battle of Shakespearean proportions; Mantis won in his pitching debut for the South Oakland Ducks of the North Side, outdueling NABA great Dan “Dr. Venkman” Morgan, to help the Ducks earn a hard fought 4-2 victory over their foils in the Campbell Conference. The Ducks entered the contest fresh off slaying MacDonald’s [...]

Dan Morgan pitched a great game. I don’t have the book in front of me, but he struck out many Ducks and did not give up too many hard hit balls. I think maybe 1 or 2 balls made it out of the infield on the fly. I think 2 runs scored in an inning [...]

We struggled to get nine for this one, with Minford babysitting in the outfield for the first 2 innings, and missing 2 of our top hitters (Jacobs and Rankin) and still AWOL commissioner (who has been to 1 of 5 games, so stop crying) – but the Bulldogs were able to pull it out in [...]

This one was a hard pill to swallow. After getting swept this weekend by the upstart expansion Bombers, the Bulldogs now sit at 2-2 and have a lot of soul searching to do. There isn’t much to say about the first game. We were no hit and lost 4-1. Their pitcher was not over-powering by [...]

Three new Bulldogs made their debuts on Saturday and all three contributed to the Bulldogs 11-4 victory over the Hurricanes. Adam Philipp threw 2 scoreless innings, Schuyler Sheaffer had a double and 2 RBI, and Jerry Irvine closed out the game by striking out the side. The Bulldogs struck early once again by scoring 3 [...]

Dan Morgan and Doug Della-Penna combined to no-hit the Rebels on opening day, as the Bulldogs mashed for 11 runs on Saturday afternoon. Morgan was actually perfect through 4 innings, when he decided to hand things over to Della-Penna, who cruised through the final 3 innings to complete the no-hit shutout. The only real threats [...]
